Overall
Lab Techs ( why so mad? )

I don't know what it is about lab techs that make them all so rude and seem to enjoy making people wait on them. Maybe it makes them feel important that they have people waiting on them. I have not been to a lab yet where I left with the thought, wow they were very pleasant. It is always the opposite. If I didnt want to get my lab work over with so bad I would of found another to go to.

Overall
Wow

I walked in, signed in, sat down. Three other folks were waiting. There was one woman behind the desk. She called one person who walked to the back. Fifteen or so minutes passed, she called another to enter his information into the computer. Another fifteen minutes passed. A woman and her elderly mother came in. "I was in here earlier but had to leave for a bit. I waited an hour but I see my name is not on the paper any more?" "You left, you wait again," came the decidedly UNfriendly reply. Another man walked in, signed in, sat down. I heard the receptionist say, "I'm going to lunch. You can wait if you want." I thought she was addressing her co-worker. Nope! Turns out, she was addressing those of us waiting. She was talking softly from behind a partition. Everyone looked as confused as I was. Then she walked to the front door and locked it with a key, then slowly made her way to the back. A woman came to the door and found it locked. (Btw, the sign on the door clearly states in big letters; OPEN 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. No where does it say, "Closing for lunch at 11:30 A.M. for one hour.") The woman knocked when she found the door locked. We called back to the receptionist to let her know, but she ignored us. The woman at the door called, "She TOLD me to go get these papers. I'm back now." We relayed the message and were still ignored. Finally her co-worker (the lab worker perhaps?) slowly made her way to the front door. "We're closed for an hour." I asked one of the gentlemen seated, "We have to sit here and wait for them to take an hour lunch?" "it looks that way!" He was very angry. So was the woman whose mother was with her, an obviously very frail lady. This is absolutely LUDICROUS. Why are these people in the health care profession? I had to leave. I didn't say anything unkind. I'm too sick to get into an argument and life is too damn short. Besides, it suddenly occurred to me that these folks would be drawing my blood. I decided to find another place to go, and I recommend you do the same.
