Avis Rent A Car

Been here several times, always got great service, some people just like to complain about anything.

BEWARE!!! What looks like a good deal is really not. 1st problem: the place closes at 6:00 and that was my rental pick up time although it didn't state that anywhere when I booked it. Had I not called ahead, we would have had a real problem. If we ran late, we wouldn't have had a car. Secondly, I tried to move up my reservation by 2 hours because the pick up time didn't work well with my husband's work schedule. They would only do it for a fee of $500 extra dollars! Next, when I returned the vehicle, the girl didn't even look at it like other companies do. Other companies inspect and communicate with you face to face. I just got a big bill in the mail A WEEK LATER! I am sure they don't inspect so they can be deceitful and bill you because it is now their word against yours and they have you stuck with a contract. Also, did you know this company has AN EARLY RETURN FEE? Seriously - the customer is doing them a favor by returning it early. When I discovered there was a problem, I called a manager who was SO RUDE and never returned my call although she said she would. When I called the Hagerstown office directly, I tried and tried and they didn't answer their phone, even though this location is not busy by any means. I rent frequently and I have NEVER had a problem with any other company. AVIS is horrible. I will never rent from them again and will do my best to warn others as well.
