I went directly to the Halethorpe Post Office to find out why my Mail Carrier would not deliver my mail if my dog was INSIDE my house looking out the door. Yes my dog will bark, duh, That's what dogs do. I have spoken to the mail carrier several times to assure him that my dog was friendly and that he did not have to fear her. She can not get out the door and has never bitten anyone since I rescued her 9 yrs ago. She's a mix shepherd, medium size. I thought speaking with her would change not getting my mail BUT I was wrong. And now that I went to the Post Office, its only gotten worse. Today I had my red flag up for him to pick up some mail that was not mine and again, he passed up my house! I know as a former government worker, it takes an act of Congress to fire someone and this HAS to change!! Get rid of the people that just want to collect a pay check and reap the
Government benefits and give the job to someone that needs a job and actually DOES IT! Someone that EARNS their pay check!

how can they get away with skipping mail delivery on some days or delivering mail after 6pm on other days?

I don't know what the government pays our 'lovely' postal workers, but I know it can't be all that much because they seem to despise their jobs. They're extremely rude, and many times just plain unhelpful. In any other customer service related career, they'd be fired. But, of course, it's the government, so they can't get rid of them, for fear they'll be sued or something equally outrageous. All because it's the worker's lack of work ethic that caused the problem in the first place. I say, dump all the grumpy people you have working the front counters, and get someone in there who doesn't scowl at you when you walk in the front door.

Really Halethorpe postoffice? One person behind the counter on Saturday, Dec 3, 2011? The line literally went out the door. I could hear people working in the back. You'd think one of them could have come out to help!
