We drive in from Spring/ Tomball to bring our cats, dogs and horses to Robertson County Vet. They lovingly treat both small and large animals. My entire family now takes their 4-legged children to the caring family of doctors at Robertson County. We go out of our way for the drive to know that we will not be upcharged, like the way they do in Houston or B/CS.

(I can guarantee others that if they were to bring their animals to Houston, they would have automatically have been told their animal has heart worms and put on expensive and potentially lethal medications and treatment regimens withs little explanation. If you think vaccinations are bad, heartworms are the city's GO TO drug treatment.)

Dear Mrs. Sarah (ie the first review),

We wish you would have said something to us in person if you were dissatisfied with our service.

With regards to your 3 month old pit, and our “selling” of shots to you. First and foremost, we feel part of our job is to educate clients and teach preventive medicine. Simply put, vaccinations are given to protect your pet against disease. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, a series of vaccinations should be scheduled approximately three to four weeks apart, with the final vaccination series being administered when they are 12 to 16 weeks old. Young animals need to be vaccinated early on since the natural immunity in their mothers’ milk gradually wears off and they become vulnerable to infectious diseases. We take pride in trying to educate our clients and new pet owners of preventative shots and the potential of heartworm disease. We will not change our approach for someone that thinks these shots are not necessary. We do not simply try and promote shots that we think are unnecessary. We sincerely hope that the neglect in getting vaccinations does not find one of your pets inflected with Parvo. If you are interested in knowing more about Heartworms, you can also go online to the American Heartworm Association. The treatment of Heartworms is very expensive in comparison to the prevention of heartworms. We hate seeing pets inflicted with heartworms. Our Veterinarians want to help not only our pets, but their owners understand the commitment it takes to keeping a healthy pet. We live in an area that is higher in the number of Heartworm positive animals and also rabies positive cases.

There is only one shot you will have to give if you come to our clinic. At 12 weeks or later, you are required to give a rabies vaccination to come in our door. If you have found another clinic that does not require that—then by all means, go there. This is for the safety of our staff, you, your children or family and whomever else might come in contact with your pet. If for some reason your pet bites someone, and you have not given a rabies vaccination, your pet would either have to be tested or quarantined (all at your cost). Testing for rabies means euthanizing your pet. With regards to trimming your pets nails. We recommend owners start trimming their pets nails as soon as possible. This gets them used to their feet being messed with. The more it is done, the better behaved they will be. Hopefully you have continued this since your visit. As one of our other clients stated, nails that are darker, etc –it is difficult to see and yes, this can happen. We will take this in consideration.

We wish you luck and hope you find somewhere else that suits you better. Thank you to the clients that let us know about this review and stating your experiences with our clinic.

I would first like to address the person with the 3 month old puppy! I have to assume you have no clue of raising a happy and healthy pet! They depend on YOU, to take care of them! By the time they are three months old, they should have already had three vaccination on the Parvo/Combo vaccination and been wormed a minimal of the same! They also need their Rabies at that age! They should be checked for all types of parasites, etc! These things CAN AND WILL, KILL that precious baby! Also, ask someone who has had to do a blood transfusion on their dogs from fleas, and so many still don't make it! I have been showing dogs for over a decade and have numerous Champions! If you want a pet, you can not be as ignorant as this person! They HAVE to have the essentials in life and deserve even more than that! They also deserve love! If you aren't prepared to take care of one, you shouldn't have the honor to have one! As far as trimming the nails, I have probably done more than most clinics do in a year! I have to do my Show Dogs every week for the shows! I even get a quick sometimes! It can't be helped! This Clinic has been wonderful to all of my Pets, which are part of my family, and should be! Not to mention their prices are cheaper than anywhere that I have checked! You need to get a book instead of a pet of any kind! Signed by a person who is sick of animals not being loved and taken care of! Ashame of you!

I think this clinic is wonderful! We drive up from Houston because the quality of care for our dog is the best I have ever seen. They have top notch vets that are honest and never recommend unnecessary things. In addition, they are professional and treat our dog with amazing care. It's an added benefit that they have the most reasonable prices around on vaccines, teeth cleaning, medicines, etc. An AMAZING place and we will never go anywhere else!

Wonderful clinic

I love this place! I have been using RCVS for years and have not once been disappointed! I mainly use them for my horses, but my dogs and cats have always been treated great as well. The staff is fun and always friendly. Not only are the vets extremely knowledgeable, but they are also very compassionate. Having horses sometimes means expensive emergency visits and they have always done a wonderful job at also considering my pocketbook as well. They always explain everything in detail and also tell me the best place to find stuff if I opt to choose to doctor something myself. Even if I don't take an animal in they are always willing to answer any questions I may have in caring for my animals. Worth the drive to not just be a name on the books. These guys treat me like family and always know who I am.

I took my puppy there for her ...

I took my puppy there for her first routine visit (3 month old pit) and all he wanted to do was recommend things for me to buy from him, such as shots. I knew what I wanted and what was best for my dog but he would not let it go, all he seems to want is money. Don't get me wrong, he is a nice man, but he will try and empty out your wallet. I even gave him another chance with my other dog but it turned out to be a complete failure. If it is a family pet you are taking to him I would highly reconsider, he does not show any amount of interest in your pet. Also on another note, his female assistant does not know how to trim nails, she cut past the quick and my dog yelped for quite a while. If you want to see for yourself than be my guest but I for one will not be taking my pets back to him. MAKE THE DRIVE TO BRYAN!
