Provided by SuperpagesWell its almost 2011, and there are very few Jewish Deli Restaurants left in the Chicago area. I have been coming to Max's on and off for years and years. I will never go back again. I ordered a corned beef and chopped liver sandwich on rye with a large order of fries. The fries were old, and were either reheated in a microwave, or worse, thrown back into the oil for a second time. They tasted rancid. The first bite I took out of the sandwich was a shock, the meat snapped back out of my mouth and back into the sandwich! The chopped liver was not fresh, and was extremely bland to taste. I opened the sandwich to see large chunks of inedible fat from the end of a bad brisket. The bad pieces that are normally discarded were all in the sandwich. There was no edible meat whatsoever. I was having high blood pressure problems, and did not wish to stroke out complaining to the staff that was almost all guest workers. I feared they would take it back and spit in my sandwich.
