I'm not sure if the fault lies entirely with Day Lum, but they are at least partially to blame for hiring a poor Property manager Like Kristin. She was hard to contact. Consider yourself lucky if you ever got a response. She never followed through on her promises, avoided dealing with problems and broke appointments last minute.

Day LUm treats the old people very badly their manager is abusive and refuses to fix the lawn where the pigs tear it up..and then they poison all around the edges and only weeds grow the yardman wont even mow our lawns by our houses he just wants it to be all rocks and dirt for the chickens to scratch scratch and leave their mites and people are getting bitten by the bugs they carry. I came home one day and both my doors were open as they had gone in when I wasnt home..they dont care about people just their money...bah humbug Day Lum they dont deserve even a corner of the star rating I had to give to post this

I rented a house from Daylum. Cindy Starr managed it. When we moved in we were in the dark for the first night because there were no working light bulbs. Ladders were needed to put many of the bulbs in. When I called Daylum the next day they said it was our problem. We had to go out and buy a ladder to put in lightbulbs ourselves.



When we moved out I took the energy efficient bulbs with me. Except for one that a helpful electrician had put in for me in the backyard using an extra long ladder. He had told me that any bulb was OK so I have him an energy efficient one. Well, when we moved out over $200 was deducted from our deposit to put in lightbulbs. We were charged $50 for the one outside.



Quite a while after moving out when the house was again empty we stopped to check on the cat who belonged to the house and noticed that that outdoor light we had been charged $50 for had never been changed.

There are many rental agencies in Hilo, find an ethical one.
