After you eat a meal or snack that contains sugar, the bacteria break this sugar down into acids that attack tooth enamel. Plaque that is not removed with thorough daily brushing and cleaning between teeth can eventually harden into calculus or tartar. Resin Composite
Composite resins, or tooth-colored fillings, provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size restorations that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth. They do not contain mercury or metal and are a good choice for people who prefer that their fillings look more natural.
