Overall

I took our family cat to the W...

I took our family cat to the Westbury Hospital at least a year ago. We have been lucky to have our "Oliver" for 14 yrs. now. This hospital saved his life! If it were not for them and the fact that they are open 24hrs for emergencies we may have lost a very beloved family member! I should have written this a long time ago! Thank you Westbury Animal Hospital!!

Preventive Care

Dental Care
At Westbury Animal Hospital, our veterinarians recommend that your pets have a routine dental cleaning performed at least once a year.
Vaccination
In order to protect the health of your pet and others, we need written proof of current vaccinations for all pets that board at Westbury Animal Hospital. This should be in the form of an itemized receipt with your pet's name and the vaccine listed or medical history from a veterinarian. If written proof is not available, you will need to authorize your veterinarian to release your pet's medical history to us. This information should be provided to us prior to your pet's arrival.
Veterinary Ophthalmology
Her interests include emergency and critical care, shelter medicine and ophthalmology. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Cole enjoys running, trying new restaurants and spending time with her family (husband, baby boy and rescue dog).
Comprehensive Examination
There are many times when a thorough physical examination is not enough. Correct and early diagnosis is essential to provide proper treatment. We use a number of imaging procedures to aid in pinpointing problems.

3. Every pet admitted for boarding will be examined for fleas and ticks upon check-in. If they are present, we will bathe your pet and/or administer a Capstar at the regular charge. We must make every effort to prevent a flea/tick infestation in our hospital.

Our veterinarians at Westbury Animal Hospital, use a variety of drugs to prevent and treat pain in your pets. Currently, pain management is a hot topic in veterinary medicine today. Our veterinarians make sure they stay up-to-date in pain management procedures by reading current journal articles and going to continuing education seminars.
Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
Some animals need special types of food to help control such things as kidney disease, liver disease, skin conditions, Diabetes, and urinary tract disorders. We have a wide array of prescription foods to help your cat and dog. We proudly sell 3 different brands of prescription cat and dog food.
Upper Respiratory Illness Treatment
Endoscopy - A bronchoscope, gastroscope, and proctoscope are available. The bronchoscope permits a non-invasive look inside the respiratory system. The gastroscope permits a non-invasive look inside the upper gastrointestinal tract, permits biopsies of the stomach and upper intestine, and often aids in non-surgical removal of stomach foreign bodies. The proctoscope aids in the diagnosis of colon and rectal disease.

A chemistry profile allows our veterinarians to evaluate your pet's kidneys, liver, and thyroid function. When certain diseases, such as kidney disease, are detected early they can be controlled with such things as diet, medication, and frequent check ups.

Wound and Fracture Care
She is excited to be back in Houston caring for pet emergencies in Westbury Animal Hospital’s ER. Special interests include: emergency medicine, wound care and internal medicine.

Veterinary Surgery
Dr. Cooper enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine with a special interest in diagnostic ultrasound as well as soft tissue surgery and orthopedic surgery.

Laboratory Services
A complete blood count (CBC) allows our veterinarians to evaluate your pet's red blood cells and white blood cells. With this valuable information our veterinarians can determine if your pet has any source of infections that may not be obvious to us on a daily basis.
X-Ray
Dental Radiology
At Westbury Animal Hospital, our Veterinarians use DIGITAL dental X-rays to acquire the highest detail for diagnosing your pets dental disease. Even the smallest of abscesses (pictured at right) will not go undetected from our veterinarians. Having a microchip ID tag installed at Westbury Animal Hospital is one of the simplest forms of permanent identification. The benefits of a microchip ID far outweigh the costs - a few dollars hurts far less than the pain of losing a beloved friend.
