Autism Services Center, headquartered in Huntington, W.Va., is a nonprofit licensed behavioral health care agency specializing in autism. Founded in 1979, it also provides services for individuals with other developmental disabilities. It owns and manages homes with trained staff, and residents are involved in various activities, including attending school, learning skills for employment and working. It provides service coordination for individuals with developmental disabilities for accessing a range of services, instructions and assistance. Its personal care nursing program uses qualified nurses to make home visits to assess medical needs, supervise medication and evaluate progress. The agency also provides day services for job training, assists in learning skills for functioning independently, provides opportunity for paid employment and offers a variety of home and community supports.
