Established in 1959, the Gravel Ridge Fire Department works for the protection of residents lives and properties. It offers a range of fire suppression and prevention services. The department operates various fire stations, as well as maintains a fleet of engines, pumpers, rescue boats, tanks and trucks. The Gravel Ridge Fire Department also has a dispatch center and serves an area of more than 13 square miles. The department provides fire safety and rescue solutions to over 26,000 citizens in the City of Sherwood in Arkansas and surrounding areas. In addition, it offers installation services for smoke alarms and detectors.
