Our proven weight loss plan provides an Introductory Consultation consisting of an overview of the North Florida Medical Clinic VLCD program. You will receive educational material regarding behavioral changes in eating, exercise, attitudes, and meal plans. Your doctor will also review your history for the presence of any possible medical contraindications.
Primary Care
Dr. Johnson joined North Florida Medical Clinic in March of 2013 after working at a Baptist Primary Care office at the beach for 15 years. He has twice served as Chief of Family medicine at Baptist Beaches hospital over that span and previously maintained a busy inpatient service there also. He has now turned his attention to outpatient services only.
Family Practice
He graduated from undergraduate school at the University of South Carolina with honors from South Carolina College honors college in 1990, from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1995, and completed his residency in Family Practice at the University of Mississippi SC, Jackson MS.
Electrocardiogram
Once you have had your Introductory Consultation and decide to begin the plan, the Initial Visit will be scheduled. During this visit, you will be asked to complete a Weight Loss Questionnaire and will undergo a physical exam including an EKG, a body composition analysis and a complete workup of laboratory tests. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to learn about the meal plans and receive guidance on a variety of our nutritional low-calorie food choices.

Dr. Kevin Holthaus, Diplomate American Board of Internal Medicine, is the President and Medical Director of North Florida Medical Clinic. Dr. Holthaus obtained his medical degree from Michigan State University in 1982, and completed his residency training at the University of Florida.

Dr. Holthaus has been in private practice in the Northeast Florida beaches communities since 1985, treating his loyal patients and their families for over 30 years. In addition, Dr. Holthaus is a Lieutenant Colonel, serving with the Florida National Guard as a flight surgeon and a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner for the FAA, offering Class 1,2, & 3 Flight Physicals. Dr. Holthaus became certified by the American College of Sports Medicine in 1997 and worked with our local high school
