Cricket Wireless Authorized Retailer

Went to this local Cricket dealer. Took time to read and look at display cell phones. Decided on a phone to purchase. Asked to see the phone, as I wanted to get a better feel for it. The female associate told me that I had to purchase the phone before I could look at it. The male associate nodded in agreement. I left the store not believing what I heard. I returned about a ½ hr later. When I walked back in the store, the two associates were there. The male associate was assisting a customer, who happened to be looking at and touching a cricket phone from the store. I reminded them that I was in the store earlier and was told that I had to buy a phone before touching it. I asked if this was Cricket’s policy or their store’s policy. The lady said that it was Cricket’s policy. I contacted Cricket to verity this. The Cricket agent denied this policy. I stepped back in the store and told both associates that they were not truthful about this being Cricket’s policy. When I mention that I was going to lodge a formal complaint, the male associate said that I could look at a box of the phone that I wanted to purchase. I told him that it was too late for that. I then said to both of them that,” I won’t say what was going on here, but that they could do the math”. I asked for the regional manager’s name, the male associate said it was Don, but that he did not know his last name (right!!!). As I exited the store, he snidely remarked for me to have a good day. I stated that I was having a great day until this situation. I contacted Cricket and lodged a formal complaint against this store. The local associates, should have asked me if I were a Cricket customer. Then they would have been privy to my account information, realized that I have been a Cricket customer for almost 5 years and not assume that because I was an African-American female, that I was planning on doing a “snatch and run” of their phone. Can’t forget to mention that the associates were also of a minority group.
