Kzoodrinks.com serves the Kalamazoo area. The goal is to provide a comprehensive listing detailing the weekly specials of every bar in the area. The website was created by two college students who know the nightlife scene well. Kalamazoo is host to three large educational institutions, Kalamazoo Community College, Kalamazoo College, and Western Michigan University. During the school year session, some 45,000 students become residents of the Kalamazoo area. These students have been a major catalyst to the rise of the bar scene in Kalamazoo. As the founders know from personal experience, students go where the specials are, with popular slogans such as "Wayside Wednesday," dictating where the popular spots will be every day of the week. Students WANT and will USE this website. With the rising prices of tuition, students need any way to save a few bucks here and there. This website gives them the ability to hit the specials, any night of the week, rather than call around or choose randomly.
