General Info
I've been at the same address for over 20 years. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker / Marriage & Family Therapist and Substance Abuse Counselor with the State of Indiana. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Social Treatment of Families, Individuals and Groups from the University of Chicago and my B.A. in Social Work Psychology from Indiana University with honors. In addition, I hold a two-year training certificate in Marital and Family Therapy from the Center for Family Studies at the Family Institute of Chicago, Northwestern Medical School; I am certified by Dr. Charles Figley from the University of Florida as a Traumatologist in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. I bring to my clients more than thirty years of counseling experience with the treatment of children, adults, couples and families, both individually and in groups. My counseling is designed to help my clients with a wide variety of personal, marital and family issues. I specialize using the family systems viewpoint. This treatment method is effective whether you come alone or with other family members. I also have working relationships with most doctors and psychiatrists in the area including both hospitals. I have served as an outpatient therapist and clinical consultant for Charter Hospital of Lafayette. I also worked as a Marriage Counselor for Catholic Charties and served as the Conduct of Ministry Officer for the Catholic Diocese of Lafayette, Indiana, investigating any reports of sexual abuse within the auspices of the Church employees. I frequently present motivational seminars/workshops. My professional memberships include being an Approved Supervisor with the American Association of Marriage/ Family Therapists, National Association of Social Workers of which I am the Region 4 Represenitive, Social Worker of the Year (2012), the Clinical Registry of Social Workers, the Indiana Association of Marriage/ Family Therapists, and the Howard County Counsel of Social Agencies.

Easy to find

I just searched the yellowpages.com for marriage & family counseling and found jeannettemurphy.com there. The links in the yellow pages.com worked well to get me to her web pages and they were fast to load and easy read. The links also gave me good instructions on how to get to her office.
