Dr. Aires is okay, his office is comfortable and the dental chairs are super-comfy and nice, however I didn't like the fact that during my complex dental procedures he kept distracting himself by talking constantly about playing Golf with his dental assistant while working on my teeth. That makes me little nervous when he is not fully paying attention or seem to be bored with his own profession, as if he is saying "I'd rather by golfing than working on your teeth".
Another issue was delegating too much of his work to his dental assistant. Going to an expensive dentist like Dr. Aires, I wanted him to work on my teeth however he'd disappear and reappear only for a few minutes each time. His dental assistant even got frustrated having to take a complex impression/molding because she couldn't get it right so she said that's something that Dr. Aires needed to do not her. What happened at the end was that I had a lot of problems with that same tooth mainly the bite wasn't right, it was too high and painful. I finally had to go back to my regular dentist who fixed it but the crown that he put on that tooth is damaged now. When I called his office, Dr. Aires's response was that he didn't want to deal with it any more and that was the end of it, I was on my own to either keep it that way or go to someone else. At the end my decision is that I'll never go back to him or recommend him to anyone.
Another issue is that during dental work he puts too much pressure fixated only the tooth that he is working on forgetting that there is a whole person attached to that tooth. It must by all that Golf playing that has made his touch so firm and forceful. So if you have TMJ or are an older patient or have arthritis sensitive to pressure, I'd not recommend him. Find some other dentist who is more sensitive to your needs and can do the same work more gently. I think due to all that pressure my tooth is probably permanently damaged.
