Breast Reduction

Breast Lift
Dr. Wheeler performs the breast lift procedure on an outpatient basis at his surgical facility in La Mesa. The procedure generally lasts two to four hours. Face Lift

Sometimes dieting and sit-ups do nothing to tighten the abdomen and keep it from protruding over the belt line. An abdominoplasty procedure, also called a " tummy tuck," can remedy this problem and give a trim, conditioned look. Abdominoplasty can also help when pregnancy stretches abdominal muscles to the point where they cannot return to their original tightness. Otoplasty
Because the ears are almost fully developed at the age of four, otoplasty can be performed on a child at an early age. Dr. Wheeler makes a small incision on each ear and removes a little slice of cartilage. The ear is then stitched so the remaining cartilage fuses as it heals. The procedure can pull ears back closer to the head, and it can reduce the size of the ears. Other otoplasty procedures can correct misshapen ears caused by genetics or the results of excessive ear pulling.
Scar Revision
How Dr. Wheeler performs a scar revision procedure depends on the type, location, and size of the scar. Keloid scars, which look almost like red or dark growths on the scar site, can be injected with steroids. If steroids prove ineffective, Dr. Wheeler can remove them with surgery. Dr. Wheeler can also use surgery to treat hypertrophic scars, which are the red, raised tissue often resulting from cutting injuries. He can remove much of the scar tissue and reposition the incision so that it is less conspicuous. Burn scars or those resulting from a large-area skin loss can be treated with skin grafts or Z-plasty, a surgical technique for obscuring and repositioning a scar.
Lip Augmentation
Primarily the same product as Restylane but contains a larger concentration of hyaluronic acid and is used for larger deeper folds. PerlaneÂ® is an injectable cosmetic dermal filler that has been used to soften wrinkles and facial folds of patients across the world. It is also a popular filler for lip augmentation, facial depressions, and facial scarring.

Dermabrasion
In addition to the treatments listed above, Dr. Wheeler performs deep surgical Dermabrasion in his surgical center. This procedure causes deep resurfacing of very intense facial wrinkles and improves deeper acne scars. This technique is a traditional technique, which is an alternative to CO2 laser, giving the greatest degree of improvement possible. It requires approximately two weeks of healing time before cover-up make-up can be applied. Pinkness of the skin will fade over approximately two to three months. As for the CO2 laser, this gives the most affective improvement of deep facial wrinkles and acne scars, but requires a longer healing time then the procedure noted above.
Facial Implants
Facial implants provide aesthetic enhancement to both the young and not-so-young. A girl in her teens may choose facial implants to bring balance to her face by enhancing the chin or cheekbones. An older patient may have facial implants to improve a sunken appearance brought on by age. Versatile facial implants can add proportion to the face and strengthen facial features with remarkable results.
Forehead Lift
During a forehead lift procedure, Dr. Wheeler removes or modifies the tissue and muscle underlying the forehead to eliminate the drooping and lines. The incision is made well within the hairline so that any scarring remains hidden. To get an approximate idea of how a forehead lift can give you a more alert, refreshed appearance, face a mirror and place your hands on the side of your face at the outside edges of your eyes above the eyebrows, then gently pull up and back.

Skin Cancer
Squamous Cell Carcinoma: This skin cancer occurs in about 16 percent of cases. Though squamous cell carcinoma can attack skin in any part of the body, it most commonly occurs in areas exposed to ultraviolet rays. Signs of the cancer look much like those of basal cell carcinoma.
