Dogwood Kennel

I recently took my dogs to Dogwood Kennels while I was on vacation. I made reservations for them to be in a suite because they get anxious when around other dogs and a suite gives them the most close to home feeling they can get. I chose Dogwood Kennels a few years ago for this exact reason. When I returned from vacation to pick up my dogs, it seemed as if the bill sounded cheaper than I expected. As I kept thinking about it on the way home, I decided that I was going to call the kennel and ask them where my dogs stayed while they were there. I told the employee who answered the phone that my dogs were supposed to be in a suite and she told me that they had stayed in a glass flat instead. I asked why and she said she would try to find out and have Pat the owner call me back. I was extremely upset because the whole time I was on vacation I thought my dogs were in a "homey" environment and wouldnt be anxious. I felt horrible, like I had not given my dogs the care that they needed. Pat did call me back later that evening and told me that she was the one who had changed my dogs from a suite to the glass flats because she didn't think she could keep the suite warm enough for my dogs and because one of my dogs is diabetic. She thought they could keep an eye on her. The kennel claims to have heated floors in the suites so I thought that was odd that they weren't warm enough . As for keeping an eye on my dog, I would hope that they would check all of the kennels regularly to make sure the dogs were doing okay. I am charged an additional $15/day fee for them to give insulin so I think they should check my dog even if she was in a suite. I was never notified that my dogs were not in the suite I reserved for them and now feel I can't trust Dogwood Kennels and that the instructions that I leave for my dogs will be disregarded at the owner's discretion. I am very disappointed and feel that this was very unprofessional.

We are extremely fussy about where we board our furbaby and this place is the best! Our baby is always happy here!
