General Info

In 1919, John S. Campbell developed the first hot wheat cereal and founded Campbell Cereal in Owatonna, Minn. The corporate and sales office moved to Minneapolis in 1936, and the name changed to Malt-O-Meal Company in 1953. In addition to Malt-O-Meal hot cereal, the company has a variety of cold cereals products, such as Golden Puffs, Tootie Fruities, Cinnamon Toasters, Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran and Colossal Crunch. Malt-O-Meal Company operates plants in Northfield, Minn., and Utah.
