Male Infertility
A study conducted by the University of California San Francisco found that exposure to hot baths or hot tubs can lead to male infertility. The study focused on 11 male patients who were regularly exposed to “wet heat” from a heated jacuzzi or hot tub. All of the participants were asked to abstain from wet heat exposure for at least three months. Five of the patients (45 percent) showed a mean increase in total motile sperm counts of 491 percent after three to six months. Among responders, sperm motility rose from a mean of 12 percent at the start of the study to 34 percent post-intervention. The results of this experiment were statistically significant. Five of the six patients who did not see an increase in their sperm count or motility were chronic tobacco users. Tobacco use emerged as a possible differentiating factor in this research. Based on the results of the UCSF study, it appears that the negative impact of wet heat on sperm motility can be minimized over time. Fertility specialists recommend avoiding wet heat from hot tubs or heated jacuzzis prior to and while trying to conceive.

Conditions like Polycystic Ovary Syndrom (PCOS), endometriosis, and ovarian cysts are known to impact female fertility negatively. Research has indicated that acupuncture can be used along with traditional medical treatments to improve symptoms that may be causing infertility. For example, women with PCOS are known to suffer from anovulation. When a woman does not ovulate, she can’t get pregnant. Research has shown that repeated acupuncture treatments can help to induce ovulation in over 1/3 of women with PCOS. Other studies have shown that acupuncture can specifically help patients with PCOS undergoing IVF treatment. After measuring the effects of acupuncture on 66 patients undergoing IVF treatment, researchers concluded that acupuncture can positively influence pregnancy outcomes, relieve symptoms of energetic kidney deficiency, and improve clinical pregnancy rates.

Colon Cancer

MRI
After the ultrasound, your doctor or fertility specialist may recommend a saline ultrasound, hysterosalpingogram (HSG), MRI, or a hysteroscopy to further assess the status of the uterus and check for abnormalities like polyps, fibroids, or scarring.
Radiology
We understand how difficult that is and created an entire team to assist and manage most of your cycle remotely. By working and partnering with your local OBGYN, Fertility Clinic, Radiology Office, and or Laboratory, you can have all your preliminary testing and monitoring office visits right at home. Most people traveling to us from out-of-state and out of the country only spend 2-7 days in New York.
Chemotherapy
The process of harvesting and freezing eggs. Done to preserve one’s fertility prior to chemotherapy (or other fertility damaging medical treatments), transitioning, or those simply hoping to expand their family later in life.
Radiation Therapy
Women with cancer requiring chemotherapy and/or pelvic radiation therapy have a high likelihood of it affecting their fertility. Freezing eggs before undergoing treatment is a smart choice.

However, outside of a few one-day procedures ( tubal reversals, laparoscopy, etc) the majority of fertility treatments take at least 2-3 weeks. Traditional travel fertility programs require you to be away from work and home during that time.
