Camden Russett

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Please don't believe all the positive reviews on their facebook and apartments.com - I found out those are curated and sorted by the company. Yelp is where you can see honest reviews.
My husband and I lived in a Camden complex in Houston, TX and we absolutely loved it. The best apartment complex I have ever lived in. When we found out we were moving back to Maryland the manger in Houston said they could transfer us and we would just be able to move in once we reached Maryland. It was right next to Fort Meade so it was perfect. The transfer was super easy. That was the last easy part.
Since we arrived in Maryland it has been a complete nightmare. The subfloor in our kitchen is rotten out and there is a huge divet in front of the sink. We had to fill it in with towels and then cover it with a rug. The outlets are a fire hazard. The covers are falling off and nothing stays plugged in. We have to use an extension cord in each room because only one outlet keeps prongs in. We even had to tape the extension cord to the wall because these outlets are loose too. The covers are falling off and the wiring is exposed. I have a toddler and I can't even keep the safety covers plugged in to prevent my daughter from playing with them because they fall out.
I have begged and cried and gone from the property manager, Charisma to the district manager Yesenia to the regional director Brett and every single person I spoke with blew me off until I finally made an appointment with the fire marshall and the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. Both authorities have assured me that they will be able to cite and fine the complex but I can't believe it came to this. The management (all the way up to the regional director) is unresponsive, uncaring, rude, and dismissive. The Houston management system was absolutely wonderful. If you move to Houston you should definitely go with Camden but if you are in MD stay FAR AWAY.
