I would NOT recommend using ServiceMax Appliance Repair. They have now been to our house 4 times to fix a Maytag front loading washing machine and still haven't fixed the problem. So far we have spent $385 and they want another $290 ($675 total) to fix the washer.

Our washing machine completes the washing cycle and hangs up in the spin cycle throwing an error code. On occasion, you could turn the washer off, wait 2-3 minutes, restart it, and it would complete the spin cycle. Sometimes it takes 3-4 attempts to get through the spin cycle.

On ServiceMax’s first visit, they told us we need a new motor for $385. On their second visit, they installed the motor and told us everything was fixed and left. I ran a load of clothes after they left and we had the same exact problem as before (the wash cycle competed and the washer stopped in the spin cycle and threw the same error code).

I called ServiceMax and told them that they hadn’t fixed the problem, so they sent the same tech back for trip #3. After talking with him, it was clear to me he didn’t know what was wrong and he was just trying different things. He told me he didn’t have the correct tools to diagnose the problem with him and would have to come back a 4th time.

I called ServiceMax and told them my concerns about installing a motor that wasn’t needed and told them that I did not want the same tech to come back out.

They came back today for the 4th trip with a different tech and he said the circuit board was bad and that would cost an additional $290 to fix.

Today's tech told us that he would not have recommended replacing the motor. He said the Maytag front loading washer is well known for its problems and he would have recommended replacing the washer rather than trying to fix it.

So we are now looking at $675 to fix a washing machine that is about 7 years old. There is no way I would spend $675 to fix a 7 year old washing machine. Also, we are out a lot of time waiting on their techs (the dreaded 4 hour appointment window). So now were stuck with the problem of throwing more money at the problem and hoping they can fix the washer or losing our original money and buying a new machine.

Had a problem with my fridge and used their service. Also used them a few months ago for another issue and was surprised at 1) how fast they scheduled an appointment, 2) how friendly the repair guy was, and 3) how quickly they fixed it!

I would recommend ServiceMAX Appliance Repair and if anything goes awry with your fridge or other appliances would give them a call.
