Highland Vac & Sew

Usually, I dont post comments, but I feel I wont be able to sleep until I post this one, you will see why. The staff at this shop was very nice, fast, knowledgeable and helpful. Five years ago I bought a Simplicity sewing machine. I got frustrated trying to use the automatic needle threader and positioning the needle in the center. Consequently, I wasnt able to use the double needle for the hem on jerseys. So I put the machine aside until now. Yesterday, I decided to seek for help. I came to the store, which by the way is very conveniently located, and the person in charge figured it out in no time. He took his time and made sure that I understood how to set up the machine properly. I am very grateful.

He explained everything and was extremely helpful finding what I needed. I will be back and highly recommend his products. I am extremely pleased and have referred my neighbors as well.

This is a small store in the Highlands that will service what they sell.....I have purchased a Simplicity vacuum and one I Q Air purifier and I am very pleased with both. I first went there looking for filters for a vacuum that I purchased at a Big Box Store. The Highland's store did not have these hard- to- find filters in stock but they were more than happy to get them for me..the owner, Mr. McDonald, even gave me a Simplicity vacuum to use while I waited for my filters to come in....I decided to buy the Simplicity Vacuum and told him to keep the filters...I took my Grandmother's Featherweight Singer sewing machine in for service and we just picked it up, it looks absolutely new. My Grandmother cannot believe how well it sews and how shiny it looks. Very good service.

Of any product I have ever bought, and of any customer service I have ever received, my Simplicity vacuum and the service I receive from Ray at Highland VacnSew (the tiny shop near Heine Brothers on Eastern Pkwy) are of outstanding quality. I know I'm going to sound like a commercial, but this vacuum is, simply, AMAZING. I didn't think a vacuum could be amazing. But when I switched from the Dirt Devil upright I had to this Simplicity it was like day and night. I pulled stuff out of my carpet that I think had been there for years. It does make vacuuming a bit less of a chore when your floors get that clean. My Simplicity vacuum was $300. I know, I NEVER expected to pay more than $125 for one, but: TOTALLY WORTH IT, no questions. Regarding Ray- the owner of the store- if you want someone who knows exactly what they are talking about, has top-notch products, but doesn't care really if you buy them or not and puts absolutely no pressure

I took my mothers Singer featherweight sewing machine in for service they did a good job on the service...they know sewing machines...He also let me sew on one of the new Necchi sewing machines and I decided to put it on layaway I will pick up later..
