Sacred Heart Village is a continuing care retirement community owned by Catholic Healthcare Partners, a health system cosponsored by the Sisters of Mercy; the Sisters of the Humility of Mary; the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor; and the Covenant Health System. Founded in 1892, the community offers an array of services to address the physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs of senior citizens. It also serves as a teaching facility for the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Sacred Heart Village provides nursing, housing, spiritual care and adult day care services. Its postacute transitional unit offers intensive nursing and therapy services. The community s restorative services staff works in conjunction with therapists to provide ongoing exercise and maintenance therapies. Its registered dieticians offer nutritionally balanced meals.
