Landscaping and Fencing

Landscaping
New roadway including utilities, grading, hazardous soil remediation, retaining walls, lighting, traffic control elements, landscaping, wetland mitigation and erosion control as described in this Proposal. The project is also a GreenRoads™ Pilot Project.
Fencing
Scope of work: The City is proposing to construct stream improvements and culvert replacements on Lyon Creek, adjacent rights-of-way including SR522, and private properties. Culvert replacements include four 20-foot wide pre-cast reinforced concrete split box culverts ranging in length between 80 feet and 160 feet. Stream improvements involve approximately 1,200 lineal feet of stream channel. Other Work includes but is not limited to temporary erosion/water pollution control, temporary traffic control, clearing and grubbing, tree removal, construction of cast-in-place reinforced concrete wall with wooden fence, installation of prefabricated pedestrian bridge, installation of prefabricated vehicle bridge pavement removal and replacement, curbs, sidewalks, gravel trails, fencing, berms, utility relocation's, placement of urban design features, site restoration and re-vegetation, and other such Work as may be necessary.

Scope of Work: This Contract provides for the improvement of NE 178th Street and 35th Avenue NE. The work to be performed under this contract will be bid in three schedules of work. Schedule A: Street Improvements includes widening and reconstructing the pavement section on NE 178th Street between 33rd Avenue NE and Brookside Boulevard, constructing cement concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk improvements on both sides of the roadway, construction of cement concrete curb gutter and sidewalk on the east side of 35th Avenue NE, between NE 178th Street and the driveway entrance to Brookside Elementary School, culvert replacement on the McAleer Creek crossing of NE 178th Street, storm system improvements, two rapid flashing beacons, utility relocation coordination, beam guardrail, fencing, driveway grading, retaining walls, signing, channelization and surface restoration. Schedule B: North City Water District Water Main Relocation includes trench excavation, backfill, 8-inch ductile iron water main replacement, fire hydrant relocation water services and connecting to the existing North City Water District water system. Schedule C includes a 1-year guarantee on the Schedule A work. Schedule D: Lake Forest Park Water District Water Main Relocation includes trench excavation, backfill, 8-inch ductile iron water main and 2-inch HDPE water main replacement, water services and connecting to existing Lake Forest Park Water District water system.
Excavation
At KLB, heavy civil construction is at the heart of what we do. This includes all types of deep foundations, ground improvements, support of excavation, retaining/sound walls, structures of all sorts, underground utilities, box culverts and our specialty: heavy highway construction.
Retaining Walls
This project is another phase of the North South Corridor (NSC) that will tie the NSC into US 395. KLB’s work includes retaining walls, road & structure ex, CSBC grading & drainage.

Masonry
In addition KLB performs footing, freezer pits, and loading dock excavation for the store. Each location has approximately 177,000 sf of warehouse floor put to subgrade. Along with the building, 150,000 sy of parking lot is prepared for island curbs, paving and concrete sidewalks. Extensive coordination is performed with all variable subcontractors from electricians, to masonry, to paving subcontractors. Our schedule on location is 180 calendar days to build the site work for the Costco property. There is only 110 days from "Day 1" (footing excavation) to store front opening. Other stores KLB worked at include Lynnwood, Union Gap, Bellingham, and Yakima.
