Overall

I have found this clinic to be a disgrace to the Lehigh Valley Health Network. We are a family of four and started to see doctors there when it first opened, but since then It's changed.

Dr. Block and the office staff act like they own the place.

First - my husband has a very uncertain and unpredictable work schedule. We were never able to get a doctor's appointment in a reasonable time! They always had to schedule him months in advance because they only have one doctor there on any particular day. So after over 2 months of waiting to finally get in for an appointment, his schedule has already changed and he often missed the appointment due to forgetfulness or inability to cancel more than a day in advance. As a result he was told that he can no long come to the clinic! We were sent letters ( certified ) telling him that he would no long be seen as a patent there because of the multiple missed appointments. We found this to be ridiculous considering that he had to WAIT more than 2 months for a visit anyway. This is a doctor's office and filling the missed appointment shouldn't have been a problem. I felt it was a disservice to us as a family to banned him from the clinic for care. We all have busy life's and schedules and it happens to the best of us. So instead of being a valued asset to our community for primary care, they have become more like an exclusive club. Wait forever to get in and never miss an appointment otherwise you're OUT.

Second - I felt that our treatment there was 3rd class. The nurses seem to be unable to take a blood pressure without that stupid machine and do little to move things along. I once went in for a sick visit and was moved into a room

( in order to keep me from infecting others ) but then spent more than 40 minutes in that room waiting for a doctor to see me! I had terrible stomach craps and the chills with a head infection and was told that because my vital signs were ok,.. that there was other people ahead of me and so I had to wait.

( what??! ) She didn't even take my blood pressure! ...I was taking into a doctors room to be seen and then made to wait 40 mins? This was a sick visit and I was in real discomfort! Seeing me first would have gotten me and my germs OUT of the building faster and home where I could rest sooner! Instead, I sat for nearly an hour freezing and shivering with cramps and diarrhea. I infected the bathrooms, the waiting room and the visiting room they stuck me in for 40 mins before a doctor even showed up! Ridiculous! Then once finally seen, they acted like I was a BIG BABY! Telling me that i didn't have the flu and that it was viral. My head infection was far from a flu with a sore throat and an obvious sinuous infection that could have used an antibiotic, she did nothing for it and when I asked her about the Tamifu medication to help with my flu symptoms I was told no one had it. She prescribed it but I was told that no one had it

( as if she wasn't agreed that I should take it )

We did not feel welcomed or cared for at that clinic. Instead it felt more like a hospital with a skeleton staff. One doctor for any day you go, and to many office personal behind the desk to tell you why you can't be seen.

They need to get with it and act like doctors that care about people's feelings and have some understanding of life's unpredictable moments. More than one doctor every day is certainly needed and they need to connect better with people from the community that come for care. It's ice cold in that place in every way! In my opinion being a doctor or a doctor's office is more than just seeing sick people and handing our prescriptions, its human - human care and understanding.
