Founded in 1967, Comprehend is a private, nonprofit organization that provides planning, prevention, treatment and support services in the areas of mental health, alcohol and drug abuse. The organization serves individuals with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Comprehend also offers guidance about behavioral health issues for community agencies, schools and individuals. The organization serves the residents of Mason, Fleming, Bracken, Robertson and Lewis counties in Kentucky. It provides outpatient counseling, psychosocial rehabilitative and residential services. The organization offers a range of therapeutic and rehabilitation activities. It is a member of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare and the National Mental Health Association.
