When it comes to breast implants in Pennsylvania, Dr. de Ramón offers his patients a variety of options to choose from. Traditionally women had to choose between saline and silicone implants. Silicone may offer a more natural feel and less rippling, but surgery for deflation can be more complicated and the FDA recommends MRI imaging every 2-3 years starting 5-6 years after placement.

Brow Lift
Our foreheads and brows show a great deal of expression, and as we age, lines and wrinkles, sagging skin and low brows may affect our appearance. Patients may have friends and colleagues asking if they are angry or tired or they may look as if they are scowling. Many men and women are constantly engaging their forehead muscles in an effort to raise their brow which can further aggravate the problem. In some cases, these lines or furrows become permanent and can only be reduced through a brow lift procedure.
Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid lift surgery is frequently considered a cosmetic surgery procedure. For patients who have the surgery in our in-office surgical suite, the cost is between $3100-3500 for upper lids and $2900-3300 for lower lids. Insurance sometimes covers upper eyelid surgery in Harrisburg PA if a patient has visual field problems. This is determined by a simple test performed by an ophthalmologist or optometrist. Pre-determination is required prior to scheduling surgery, and our billing office or surgical coordinator will assist with determining coverage through insurance. Rhinoplasty
What makes an attractive nose? The nose should fit the face and be natural looking. The same “ideal” proportions and shapes of the nose and face have been advocated for thousands of years with almost universal agreement Some people, through heredity or trauma, have a nose that is not suited for their other facial features. Rhinoplasty can be performed on men and women from the age of 16 and up who are dissatisfied with the shape, size or contour of their nose. A rhinoplasty can change the size of the nose, change the profile, remove a hump, improve the appearance of the tip, bridge or nostrils, and correct asymmetry. Other treatments, such as a chin implant, may also improve the appearance of the nose and balance the face.
Breast Reconstruction
During a consultation, Dr. de Ramón will review your history and operative notes (please forward these to our office prior to your appointment) and examine you. A discussion of the reconstructive options will then take place based on all of the above and your preferences. The pros and cons of various reconstructive options will be reviewed. Dr. de Ramón and your breast surgeon and oncologist will work together to be sure you are a candidate for reconstruction. The best candidates for breast reconstruction are otherwise healthy, a non-smoker and of normal body weight.

Face Lift

Blepharoplasty
54 year old female who underwent upper lid blepharoplasty 10 years ago by another surgeon. She complained of progressive recurrent eyelid droop and sagging. She also complained of looking tired. She has a superior visual field obstruction known as blepharoptosis. The eye-opening muscle has detached from its normal attachment within the eyelid. She underwent corrective surgery (bilateral levator advancement). The pictures show pre-op and 3 months post-op with restoration of normal visual fields and normal eyelid margin positioning.
Abdominoplasty
Some men who have lost weight or who have a protruding abdomen may be a candidate for a tummy tuck/abdominoplasty. Dr. de Ramón is able to remove excess skin and fat and tighten the abdominal wall muscles for a flatter, tighter stomach.

Lip Augmentation
Restylane Silk® is also the same hyaluronic acid as Restylane® but it is a smaller particle size. It is FDA approved for lip injection. It is commonly used by Dr. de Ramón for lip augmentation in patients desiring fuller lips and for correction of age-associated lip atrophy and volume loss. As people age, the lips lose volume, lose projection, flatten, and can become wrinkled. Restylane Silk® is a great product to treat these concerns. Injection in this anatomic area demands precision, skill, and artistry to produce natural looking lips. While any physician can legally inject fillers, Dr. de Ramón believes that patients are best served by physicians who have met the rigorous requirement to become Diplomates of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and who have many years of experience.
Body Contouring
Recovery from body contouring surgery after weight loss generally requires 10-14 days off work and avoidance of strenuous activities for 4-6 weeks. This can vary depending upon the area of surgery. Patients have some discomfort after surgery which can be controlled with an injection of Exparel, a long-acting anesthetic, during surgery and/or controlled with oral pain medication. A compression garment is worn for 4 weeks postoperatively to reduce swelling and provide support. Although recovery can be long, patients find the time is worth the outcome.
Gynecomastia
Many men in the Harrisburg, PA, region strive to have a chest that is broad and flat or even muscular. Unfortunately, 50-65% of adolescent men and up to 70% of men aged 50-69 years suffer from feminine-looking breasts, also called gynecomastia. Gynecomastia affects an estimated 40-60% of all men. Regardless of the method, losing a dramatic amount of weight can leave skin sagging and loose. Skin Care
