Prestige Motors Of The Viera

Our family purchased a 2009 Mercedes SL550 Silver Arrow Edition from Prestige Motors of Viera (Thomas, Austin) and was told the engine, top and transmission were guaranteed to be in good working order. We even asked them to guarantee this by writing this on the purchase order when we bought the car. We were told that the car was not in an accident and they sent us a carfax (we later found that this carfax was two years old) and that the paint great. Upon arrival of the car, the top did not work and was leaking from numerous hydraulic pumps that operate it so much that you could smell the oil burning on the exhaust causing a potential fire danger, the engine was leaking from the cams and the car was painted over 2/3rd of the vehicle and a sloppy job to boot. Additionally there were obvious signs of damage, sea water corrosion on all the major metal on the engine parts and too many issues to address. We got an estimate at a reputable 30 year old German auto repair shop in Dallas that is more competitive in pricing than the Mercedes dealer and was given a quote of nearly $9k to fix this car-and nothing can fix the fact that we were misled about the paint on the car. We paid over $40k for the car and the owner Thomas Salazar and sales rep Austin totally abandoned us and did not stand behind their vehicles that they sold. At first they answered our calls, but shortly thereafter they tried to play the blame game and denied everything and eventually didn't respond. We could not drive the car due to the oil leaks and obviously could not enjoy the number one reason why we bought the car-the convertible top. Buyer beware. This dealership grossly misrepresents their vehicles and says all the right things till they get your money and then totally abandons their customers. I would never, ever recommend buying from them! See attached photos of the oil leaks, bad paint and other issues with this car. Buyer beware!
