We are in close communication with primary care physicians and we routinely screen patients for health issues, not just for the injury that prompted the referral to our office.
Emergency Care
Falls occur in the home most frequently in the aging population due to various risk factors and account for millions of dollars annually for hospitalization costs. According to the CDC, 3 million older people are treated in the emergency room each year due to fall related injuries.1 In addition, at least 300,000 older people each year are hospitalized due to hip fractures with 95% resulting from a fall.1 Risk factors have been identified that can be modified or changed that may help decrease your risk for falls.

Knee Replacement
Having my last session just yesterday I walked out of PT Professionals front door thinking I would change there name, I would change it to "Physical Therapy Experts" because they are more then just pros. I went in for knee replacement therapy and was assigned to Justin aka JJ as my therapist. From the start it was evident that he was at the top of his field. During his initial evaluation he developed a personalized plan to not only strengthen and increase range of movement for my knee but also focused on other areas I was having issues with. My ankle had bothered me for years and I had seen a doctor for this issue but she said there was nothing she could do, which was very disappointing. JJ quickly surmised that my ankle problem was caused by the misalignment of my hip. So he put his plan into action and in just a few sessions I noticed that the pain in my ankle had disappeared! Justin had went above and beyond to ensure that not only my knee was functional but that everything attached to it was working as it should as well. I was authorized 15 sessions and that gave me time to observe the other therapist with all the other patients and I could see that they were all just as committed to the optimum positive outcome of all the patients being treated there as JJ was. It was a relaxing atmosphere with friendly banter, good conversation and good music that made the time go by quickly. I'm grateful for the extra efforts of JJ and will rest assured that I will be in good hands next year when I get my other knee operated on and return to the "Physical Therapy Experts" employed by PT Professionals at the Palm Bay location. Genevieve (Genny) Hepworth was born and raised in Iowa. Growing up she was very active, trying out all the sports that she could. She played tennis, softball, basketball, dance, and eventually found her place with soccer and volleyball. During her sophomore season in high school, she experienced multiple ankle and hamstring injuries which was her first experience with physical therapy and ignited her passion for the profession where exercise and medicine intersect.

I was very pleased with my visits to PT PROFESSIONALS. Our therapist listened to my concerns and worked out a therapy program that I felt comfortable with and that brought about very satisfying results. He also printed out an instruction sheet with pictures demonstrating the exercises, they were especially helpful.
