Dr Marler was exceptional and very reasonable in price the new vet Dr Gustafson appears to be very caring as well however their prices have risen greatly, I was kinda shocked at the bill. I will remain with this vet..she seems good and professional just a little expensive for this area.

Dr.Gustafson is very thorough, friendly, and knowledgeable. This is a full service clinic. I would highly recommend this clinic.

We have been taking our 2 large dogs to see Dr. Smith for 12 years, We also have seen Dr. Marler. And soon we will be taking 2 kittens I rescued while I was staying in Florida. The front staff is the greatest and they know who you are when you just come in for food or meds. Thank you The Micans

Was looking for a vet for our rescue Shi-poo, and Merrillville Animal Hospital had very competitive prices. Was EXCELLENT with our dog who usually growls and often snaps - no problems with these vets or their staff as they are calm, knowledgeable and friendly. I also have boarded my dog here on several occasions and was pleased with the price ($20 per night) and my dog was well taken care of and happy to see the other dogs -- again, no growling. In addition, I have used their grooming services which were reasonably and competitively priced and the service was superior to the other I had used before. Great friendly place, great prices, really helpful. They even gave me free ear drops when my dog had a slight ear infection.

Go To this hospital if you really care about your pets. They have always been professional, honest and caring. Compared to other clinics I've been to, this one is the best.

Not only as a employee, but also as a client, I would love to thank Dr. Marler for his medical skills and compassion. My dog developed within a matter of days, a golf-ball sized mass on his throat. I've been able to view many procedures over the years that he has performed, and this one more than met my expectations as a client. The mass was quite large, and there was worry about the abilty to have enough skin to suture such a large area. He executed the procedure with confidence and grace. My pet is now fully healed and I couldn't be happier with the overall result. A warm thank you to Dr. Marler and the rest of his team, excellant work!!

I really dont ever write reviews about places but today I came home and decided now was a good time to do it . Ive been going to the Merrillville Animal Hospital for a long time, since my dog was a puppy , they are always courteous , the front staff is the best !! Dr Marler goes out of his way to help and explain everything to me , I also have seen Dr Smith and you can tell these two Doctors really care about you and care so much about animals . While I was there today a injured cat was brought in that was found by someone , they didnt hesitate to take care of it immediately and I was so impressed with how they treated the gentleman who brought this poor little thing in . Id recommend them to anyone and everyone !

Hospital staff is lacking knowledge, have people who groom and practice on your dog that do drugs and continue to work there. Office manager is rude and childish. Dr. Marler does not know what he is doing, he diagnosed my dog wrong and she died through the night. Very unproffessional. My advice go to another vet if you want your animal to be taken care of. Staff is not very friendly either.
