Oral Cancer Screening
If caught early, oral cancer can be effectively treated. For this reason, we are proud to assist our patients with an oral cancer screening. We want to help our patients survive this often fatal disease.

Teeth Cleaning
The answer depends on the severity of your periodontal disease before treatment. Generally, the more severe your periodontal disease is initially, the more often Dr. Nasr or Dr. Saenz need to oversee your care. Most often Drs. Nasr or Saenz and your dentist will alternate dental cleaning visits.

Your dentist and Drs. Nasr or Sáenz work together as a team to provide you with the best possible care. They combine their experience to formulate the best maintenance plan for you and keep each other informed about your progress. Appointments for periodontal maintenance do not replace regular dental checkups. Your general dentist is primarily responsible for your overall dental health, including such dental needs as filling new or recurrent cavities or making changes in fillings, crowns or bridges.
Bridges
Bone grafting following tooth loss can preserve the socket / ridge and minimize gum and bone collapse. There is less shrinkage and a more aesthetic tooth replacement for a dental implant, crown, or fixed bridge.

Dentures
A single prosthesis ( crown ) is used to replace one missing tooth – each prosthetic tooth attaches to its own implant. A partial prosthesis ( fixed bridge ) can replace two or more teeth and may require only two or three implants. A complete dental prosthesis (fixed bridge) replaces all the teeth in your upper or lower jaw. The number of implants varies depending upon which type of complete prosthesis ( removable or fixed ) is recommended. A removable prosthesis ( over denture ) attaches to a bar, ball or locator attachments, whereas a fixed prosthesis is permanent and removable only by your dentist.
Overdentures

Dental Implants
Over a period of time, the jawbone associated with missing teeth atrophies or is reabsorbed. This often leaves a condition in which there is poor quality and quantity of bone suitable for placement of dental implants.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Oral surgery is considered a dental specialty. Only certain dentists go through the rigorous training and extra education that is required to be considered an oral surgeon. We are very excited to have oral surgeons who are exceptional at what they do!
Gum Surgery
Dr. Saenz is a genius with surgical procedures & LASER. Anticipated a bit of a down time which is normal for gum surgery, however that wasn't the case. No pain -no down time! The only Perioclinic to visit should you have a need for treatment! The best anywhere!
Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Nasr has several publications in refereed and peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants, Journal of Periodontology, Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontology 2000 and the Journal of Oral Implantology among others. While most of his time is devoted to private practice, he has also lectured on Esthetics and Implant Surgery as an invited speaker at major national and international conferences including the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Congress of Oral Implantology, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons’ Annual as well as the AAOMS Implant Conference, the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Scandinavian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and the Academy of Osseointegration which is recognized as the world’s most respected authority on dental implants.
Tooth Extractions
Your dentist, Dr. Nasr or Dr. Saenz, may determine that you need a tooth extraction for any number of reasons. Some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed; others may have advanced periodontal disease, or have broken in a way that cannot be repaired. Other teeth may need removal because they are poorly positioned in the mouth (such as impacted teeth), or in preparation for orthodontic treatment.
Bone Grafting
When the bone hardness is not adequate and bone grafting is required the dental implants are left beneath the surface of the gum. After the implant has bonded to the jawbone for three to six months, Drs. Nasr or Sáenz will uncover the implant and attach a small healing collar. After two weeks your general dentist will be able to start making your new teeth. An impression must be taken. Then posts or attachments can be connected to the implants. The teeth replacements are then made over the posts or attachments. The entire procedure usually takes six to eight months. Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily life.

Teeth Whitening
Cosmetic Dentistry
Although your teeth appear short, they may actually be the proper length. The teeth may be covered with too much gum tissue. We can correct this by performing the periodontal plastic surgery procedure, esthetic crown lengthening or elongation. During this procedure, excess gum and bone tissue are reshaped to expose more of the natural tooth. This can be done to one or several teeth to even your gum line. Cosmetic dentistry by your general dentist may also be recommended to complete your beautiful smile.
General Dentistry
Prophylaxis can be performed at our office or by your general dentist. It may be beneficial to alternate your regular cleanings between Drs. Nasr and Sáenz’s hygienist, who is more familiar with the full scope of your periodontal disease, and your dentist’s hygienist, who is more familiar with the full scope of general dentistry. We recommend that prophylaxis be performed twice annually as a preventative measure, but should be completed every 3-4 months for periodontitis sufferers. It should be noted that gum disease cannot be completely reversed, but prophylaxis is one of the tool that Drs. Nasr and Saenz can use to effectively halt its progression.
