Dental Examination
We view the infant dental exam as one of the strongest foundations for cavity prevention. The best predictor of future cavities is how many baby teeth had cavities and how early they developed. We monitor many children’s teeth from their first development into maturity and are able to provide quality care for a lifetime of health.
X-rays
Panoramic X-Rays offer patients a complete detailed image of the entire mouth including the teeth, upper and lower jaw sinuses, and the jaw joint (TMJ).
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer screening is a routine part of a dental examination. Regular check-ups, including an examination of the entire mouth, are essential in the early detection of cancerous and pre-cancerous conditions. You may have a very small, but dangerous, oral spot or sore and not be aware of it.

Dental Sealants
Sealants are a proven way to help prevent cavities. Although sealants do not take the place of proper oral hygiene, they do prevent bacteria from getting into the deeper crevices in a tooth's biting surface and therefore keep the tooth cavity-free.

A space maintainer is a removable or fixed appliance designed to maintain an existing space in the mouth. They are usually fitted to children when they have lost baby teeth early. The gap left from losing this tooth needs to be held open for the permanent tooth to erupt in its correct position.

Whitening can only be completed once cavities are treated in order to prevent the whitening solution from reaching the inner tooth and causing sensitivity. Please keep in mind that teeth whitening is unable to lighten exposed tooth roots or tooth replacements, such as crowns and veneers.
Crowns
Baby teeth that have large cavities and some degree of pain occasionally require the removal of the top portion of the tooth's nerve before a filling or a crown is placed. The main goal of this procedure is to preserve the baby tooth since primary teeth help to maintain adequate room for the permanent teeth. Pulpotomies have published success rates that range from 60% to 90% and represent a good and reliable way to save a badly decayed baby tooth.

Many times after a tooth has endured trauma, decay, or similar, the tooth structure is compromised. In cases like this, Dr. Myers will use a post and crown in an effort to restore the tooth; a crown build-up will be made with either a composite bonding material or an amalgam material. The build-up will create a reliable foundation to support the crown, which aims to restore the tooth’s appearance and functionality so you can walk out with your perfect smile.

Pulpotomy
Stainless steel crowns (also known as “silver crowns” or “caps”) are a very common procedure used to restore baby teeth (and occasionally permanent teeth) that have large caries, or those that had a pulpotomy. Although most teeth can be filled with a white or silver filling material, stainless steel crowns are by far the most predictable and durable option to fix baby teeth with large caries, defects, or damaged enamel. This is particularly true in very young children that have caries at a young age, since it is preferred that the “fixed” teeth last as long as possible.
Root Canal Treatment
If not detected and repaired with a filling, the decay can reach the tooth nerve and cause the need for a root canal. With the decay removed and a filling in place, the tooth is restored to its original contour.

An extracted tooth leaves an open area in the jaw which, in time, allows the neighboring teeth to migrate into the area where the tooth was extracted. Also, if you are considering placing an implant in the future, you should consider asking your dentist to place a bone graft at the time of surgery to preserve the bone width and height.

After the solution is placed in the mouth guard, it is placed over the teeth and left on for a few hours or overnight depending on the type of whitening solution.
