Dr. Michael Griesser was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. He is a graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency with a credential in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery at Inspira Health Network in Vineland, New Jersey where he served as chief resident. This included extensive training in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle as well as lower extremity wound care and treatment of the diabetic foot. As part of his residency, Dr. Griesser completed training at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland with special emphasis placed on the treatment of pediatric lower extremity deformities.

Dr. Jacob Hanlon is a native Delawarean. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware and the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. His post-graduate training in Advanced Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery was accomplished at Lutheran Medical Center, a Level One Trauma Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he served as the Orthopedic Trauma Fellow.

He has extensive training in foot and ankle surgery, wound care, and sports medicine. He is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is the President-Elect of the Delaware Podiatric Medical Association.

You hear it all the time, it’s “just” a sprain... but, is it “just” a sprain? Foot and ankle surgeons advise, there is more to an ankle sprain than meets the eye. An ankle sprain is an injury to one or more ligaments (band of tissues—like rubber bands, which connect bones and joints) in the ankle, usually on the outside of the ankle. We know not all ankle sprains are the same and the severity of the sprain depends on whether the ligament is stretched, partially torn or completely torn, as well as on the number of ligaments involved.
