Peter's

My first visit to Peter's in Millburn and my last. I've lived in Short Hills for 15 years and always enjoy trying new places that come into town I had heard mixed reviews about Peter's over the past couple of years so I wasn't very anxious to try it. I was immediately turned off by how loud and cramped it was. The panels they put on the walls to try to absorb sound were absolutely useless except to make the place look cheap and tacky. We walked in the door and waited 10 mins while the staff looked at us and completely ignored us. Then another person came in and the old man who works there immediately rushed right by us to welcome them and as he nearly knocked us over we asked if there was a table available. The guy didn't even look at us and said rudely "you'll have to wait" and then proceeded to ooo and aaah and seat the person who clearly came in 10 mins after us. It became quite apparent that he wasn't going to give us the time of day so we left. Apparently the old guy has to know you if you want to be seated and he needs to go to finishing school to learn etiquette. We went to Moonshine next door and were welcomed immediately by a very pleasant staff member - great food, great service, lots of space and nice decor. None of which you will find at Peter's.
