Western Building Products started in business in 1946 in Milwaukee, when, at the end of World War II Milwaukee was without a millwork jobber. The company was known at the time as Western Lumber Distributors and was a partnership of Reo, Harold, and Marsden Elliot. The principle product line at that time was lumber, which was sold to customers in carload lots. In 1947, Western acquired its first warehouse space to use in the distribution of mouldings. In 1950, the name was changed to Western Moulding Company. In 1984, it was changed again to Western Building Productsto better reflect the broad range of products being offered. Western continues to look for ways to increase its ability to serve customers by providing a wide selection of quality products and improved delivery schedules.
