Founded in 1969, Parents In Community Action is a nonprofit agency that provides Head Start and Early Head Start programs for residents of Hennepin County in Minnesota. The agency serves more than 2,500 children between the ages of 3 and 5. It provides assistance to develop self-esteem, decision making and socialization skills of infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Parents In Community Action offers nutritional food, transportation and health assessment services. The agency features child care, family support and parenting education programs. Its literacy programs include listening activities, drawing stories on paper and story telling. In addition, Parents In Community Action provides cultural activities, including music, dance and dramatic plays. The agency maintains a location in Minneapolis.
