Dollar Tree

My family and I have shopped at this dollar tree for the past 10 years, because they have decent items for $1. I had been satisfied with the service there until recently. Note, satisfied, not happy.

My family and I were accused of shoplifting by the manager. He asked me, my mother in law, my wife, and my two small children to leave. We asked this man several times why we were being asked to leave and he kept avoiding the question, "oh you know why" he kept repeating to our question. We did not know why. We had several items in our buggy. My wife asked me to take some stuff back to their proper places, because she decided to buy 2 rawhides for our dog, instead of 5. We were trying to purchase items to make Thanksgiving crafts, and Christmas decorations. We just want to make stuff with our kids, and start traditions, now that our girls are a little bigger, and can be artsy. We were also trying to buy Christmas gifts for a senior we adopted off of the Walmart tree, word puzzles, and such.

While counting up the items in our buggy, the employee asked my wife and mother in law to leave. He then looked at me and the girls, and said "you too." "Leave, and don't ever come back!" Eventually he threatened to call the police on us, so we called them instead. My wife remained in the store waiting for the police to come, and figure out what had happened. The man kept his badge covered, so we could not find out his name. Asked if he was the store manager; he laughed, and didn't answer. The officer said he was the store manager, so it should be fairly easy to find out what his name was.

The officer said that the manager thought we were going to shoplift. Overheard him telling the police officer that we kept "splitting up." I reckon a family of 5 just stays together while shopping. No one ever splits off to look for anything? Everyone has the same brain, and knows what everyone wants to buy?



I don't intend to shop somewhere where my status as a patron is judged solely by paranoia.



Also, when my wife had took our 3 year old to the bathroom, and there wasn't any toilet paper in the back stall. The first stall, the toilet seat was broken, and no toilet paper in there either
