The Monroe Fire Department provides prompt fire and life safety services to the residents and visitors of Monroe, Wis. It is an ISO class 3 department and participates in a variety of public education events annually. The fire department employs more than 45 full-time staff members and firefighters. The Monroe Fire Department responds to an average of 200 calls a year that include vehicle or structure fires, car accidents, emergency management service assistance, false alarms and public service. It provides protection to the city of Monroe, and Monroe, Clarno and parts of Sylvester townships that cover an area of over 80 square miles.
