          We love Tarpy's and have never had a bad experience there. We vacation here each Thanksgiving from Southern California and find it to be excellent dining -- a great value for the money!

          Atmosphere was good, waitress was great, food was priced about average for a high end Restaraunt. The problem was if your taste buds laid down and gave up it would taste about the same. I had the fire grilled steak and my wife had the colossal shrimp (biggest prawns I've seen) but it seriously tasted as though it was all cooked without any seasoning at all. Sorry guys, I gave you a fair shake

          unexpectedly great

          recommened by another hotel. specially tailored filet and lobster tail with spinach for me with a beaitiful half bottle of young wine that the bar tender gladly decanted for me. paired beautifully. special cheesecake with passionfruit and 1985 Grahams to top it off. only thing keeping it from 5 stars is cut and aging of steak and ambiance and noise level. great for a date night if you can get a quiet corner. bar tender great and knowledgeable!

          Operational since 1917, Tarpy's Roadhouse serves American country cuisine. It features nearly seven private and semiprivate rooms for social and corporate celebrations. The restaurant additionally features patios for weddings, receptions and rehearsal dinners. Tarpy's Roadhouse provides off-site catering services and employs full-service caterers who can handle all event details, including finding a location, making lodging arrangements and contracting with florists, stationers, bakeries, photography and video experts and musicians. It has a vintner s room that overlooks gardens and wishing wells and features a display of some of the area's best wines. In addition, the restaurant has a library that can accommodate up to 80 people and features a fireplace and bookshelves. Its menu includes a variety of starters, sandwiches, sides, entrees, desserts and beverages. Tarpy's Roadhouse also offers a selection of wines, such as merlot, pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc and zinfandel. It is located in Monterey, Calif.
