Dr Melissa Kitzmiller graduated from WVU School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. She maintains Board Certification from the American Board of Family Medicine. She has practiced medicine in the area since 2002, with a focus on pediatrics.
Primary Care
School-based centers are open to the public for general primary care services. Students who participate in the health center must complete a parental consent form prior to accessing care.
Family Practice
Serving as the corporate location since 1981, our baker location provides quality, affordable care in primary and behavioral family medicine as well as family dental services. This site also offers an on-site pharmacy services and diagnostic x-rays.
Emergency Care
Bonnie comes to EA Hawse with over 20 years of Family practice and Urgent Care experience. She graduated from WVU and completed her Physician Assistant degree at JMU in 2001. In her personal time, she loves spending time with her family and her passion is her horses and attending church. Bonnie joined EA Hawse in August 2021 and will be seeing patients in Moorefield at the Hardy County Medical Office. She is DOT certified and is working evening hours to provide more options for peoples' schedules and needs.
Immunizations
The Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) badges recognize Health Center Program awardees and look-alikes (LALs) that have made notable quality improvement achievements in the areas of access, quality, health equity, and health information technology for the most recent UDS reporting period. In addition, COVID-19 badges were introduced to recognize health centers’ contributions to the public health emergency response in the areas of data collection, testing, and vaccinations.
Dr. Smith graduated from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA in 1983. She obtained and has maintained her Board Certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1989. Dr. Smith started her employment with E. A. Hawse in 2003 and sees patients in the Baker, West Virginia location.

Psychiatry
Chantel Coby, a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) joined Hawse Health to assist with providing Patient Centered Integrated Health Care. Chantel began her career as a RN in 1996 after graduation from D&E and later from WVU. She decided to pursue a MSN to become a Nurse Practitioner. She earned this degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and then completed her post-masters training at Shenandoah University with a specialty in Psychiatry. Chantel is able to see both children and adults in Baker, Romney and Grove Street Health Center
Behavioral Health
O National Quality Leaders represent health centers that meet or exceed national benchmarks for one or more of the clinical quality measure (CQMs) groups that promote behavioral health, diabetes health, and heart health. Recipients are limited to the top 1 to 2% of all health centers.
Sandy is a graduate of WVU School of Pharmacy December 1993. She began working in diabetes education in1994, receiving her certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) in 2001. Sandy has worked in a variety of settings including hospital, independent pharmacy, and currently, since February 2019, at the Grove Street Clinic.
All of Hawse Health Center sites provide family practice medical services. These services include Monitoring and care of Chronic Diseases, Breathing and hearing tests, Infant, child and adolescent health care, Immunizations, well child and school exams, Primary and preventive care, office surgical services. The Baker site has on-site diagnostic x-ray. Our medical and dental providers make available education and training for college and post-graduate students and health care professionals.
Wound Care
Jessica graduated from WVU School of Nursing in 2021 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked at an urgent care facility after graduation. Jessica also has experience working at hospice, home health, surgery, med/surg, wound care and public health. Jessica is married, has three kids and two dogs! She enjoys riding her peloton and spending time with her family. She is also an avid plant mom!
Dr. Hahn joined E. A. Hawse Health Center in January of 2021, practicing at the Romney location. He graduated from Marshall University in 1989 with his medical degree in Family Practice. Dr. Hahn also completed his dermatology residency in 1993 with WVU and is board certified.
