Dr. James J Harrison, MD

This was the worst interaction with a doctor I have ever had! Dr. James Harrison was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. I have previously been diagnosed with scoliosis and also a buldged disk. Most of the time the pain is manageable so I chose not to get surgery. Every so often the pain gets really bad so I go to urgent care to get something to help me manage. This is maybe once or twice a year. Dr. Harrison entered the room and asked me what’s going on. I told him I am in severe pain due to my back and he immediately cut me off and told me they done deal with chronic conditions in urgent care. He then went on to lecture me in a condescending manner for 15 min telling me I need to drink Gatorade and go to the gym. He said buldged disks don’t exist and that my back only hurts because I’m low on electrolytes and need more exercise. He did not asses me at all! I sat in the chair the entire time! Every time I tried to say anything he would raise his voice and continue scolding me like a child. He then wrote me a prescription for pain meds, an anti inflammatory, and muscle relaxors. I’m no professional but it seems wrong that he gave me multiple prescriptions without even assessing me, he didn’t ask me a single question about my pain or how I was injured. I have never had such a horrible experience at a doctors office. All the other staff was amazing but this “doctor” needs to go!
