My husband and I are professional drivers. We live at travel centers. We areived in Mt. Vernon this past Friday. We spent most of our time at the Pilot around the corner. We came to your store Sunday. We enjoyed eating at the Huddle House. Keith Smith is a great manager. He ran that restaurant like a pro. Him and all the waitresses were super nice and pleasan to us. We camped there that night. Your parking lot has no shade. None of the businesses around that area really do. So we would travel around as the sun moved, seeking whatever shade we could find for our dog. Even spent some time at Walmart hiding from the sun. We spent a chunk of Monday at your store. Enjoyed Huddle two more times. Then went to Pilot to sleep. We did not return to your sore till Tuesday night.We camped in your parking lot that night. It was hot today. We noticed you have 2 smoking areas that are very well shaded. So we brought our dog to one and tied him so that he could cool off. I informed your cashiers that we were there and that if it became an issue to just inform us and we would move. We were there maybe an hour before your manager David came out to run is off. Threating to have us towed, claiming we had been there all weekend. Never mind that there's been another cargo van in the same spot for three days. I tried to inform him that we haven't and that we are professional drivers. He didn't even hear me. The whole purpose of a travel center is for professional drivers to have a safe place to loiter, but apparently because we drive a van and not a semi, that doesn't apply to us. We get professional drivers discounts same as the big rigs. We drive across the country to carry cargo same as them, only we take the jobs they can't. We were paying customers. We actually enjoyed your PB&J sandwiches. We did not how ever enjoy the treatmen we got from David. As we were leaving, I mentioned these events to several of the employees there who were appalled by his actions. Keith said we were very pleasant customers. I want you to know that we are informing the world of his discrimination.
