I had a bad experience with him. I am from IL and moved here 2 years ago. Went to him for esophageal dilatation because I have strictures in my esophagus. Nothing was explained to me prior to going in for the procedure. It is a cattle call. I was sedated with proponal which I didn't want. Next thing I was awake and sent home. I had terrible pain that afternoon and night. Thought my esophagus had be ruptured by the procedure. I had to have a CT scan the following day. I researched and found he used a scope that is not used much anymore and it was not flexible. I spoke with another gastroenterologist who is younger and was suprised he used such a scope. It was inflexible. These scopes can be reused and cost the DR. less! I have always had flexible scopes used in IL. This was a real eye-opener for me and it took a long time for my pain to resolve. I went to see him to tell him about it and really wanted an explanation and apology. He was defensive and dismissed my concerns. Do not use him. He has tons of PA's. Also, he is a DO rather than an MD.
