Never using the service department again.



My van needed a simple reprogramming of the key, a job they told me yesterday I did not need an appointment for and that it should only take one hour to get serviced so bring it in anytime. I towed my van in this morning and the quick job they promised turned into a day long battle to even get through to their service department on the phone. My husband left work to be able to talk to them face to face and found out they had not started the work because they hadn't confirmed the work to be done (their service department had called me back and confirmed the work about an hour before). Eventually the van was seen but near the end of the day. They determined that the problem was "something else" but they wouldn't be able to run diagnostics until FOUR business days later (5 days after I brought in the van), to run the diagnostics and take apart the dash would cost $105, and they wouldn't even give me an estiment of cost for the parts/labor for what they told me they thought the problem likely was. We ended up retowing it to another dealership.



This may be a good place to buy a car, but I would never recommend the service department.



UPDATE:

After speaking with another Dodge/Chrysler dealership about the repair issue for my van I lost my trust in Peterson Stampede. The new dealership said that there was no need for Peterson Stampede to charge me $105 to take apart and diagnose this problem. It was simple to identify with a computer check. And the parts I needed all came in one kit so I shouldn't be charged separately for the part and new key. PLUS the removal and installation of the module was extremely accessible under the steering wheel so they should not be charging extra for taking anything apart as Peterson had said they probably would. Bottom line... I would never trust this dealership with any car I own.

First off I'd like to thank John Goodrum for all of the hard work he put in making sure we got a good deal. I drove about six vehicles before I decided on 2010 Grand Caravan. I love my new vehicle. It was awesome the way I was treated and most dealerships that I visited were very pushy and if they found out I wasn't buying today they would tell me to come back when I was. Not the case here. John emailed me for 2 weeks and then we spoke on the phone. I made an appointment and I was pleasantly suprised.

I'm from near John Day, Oregon and saw a Chevy Cobalt online. When I called I spoke to John Goodrum and he assured me that they had about 8 different vehicles that met my criteria. We met with him the following Saturday(3 hr drive). We test drove 4 vehicles and decided on a Hyundai accent. My payments and interest rates were lower than expected! How often does that happen?
