Leak Detection/Repair
Cracked water pipes are the leading cause of slab leaks. A Slap leak often results from foundation movement. The clay soil, especially in the DFW area, shrinks and expands to a great degree, based on its moisture content, causing the slab to move upward (when the clay is wet and expanding) and move downward (when the clay is dry and shrinking). As a result of uncontrolled slab movement, slab cracks or heaving can occur. Water lines are below the slab of the home and fastened to the slab in places. Slab failures create tremendous pressure on water lines, which can cause them to crack or burst. Al’s Plumbing can repair water lines by removing and replacing the section of pipe that has cracked. For an older home, Al’s can replace all of the water pipes, if needed.

Sink Installation/Replacement
Kitchen sinks are not easy to install. If you know a little bit about plumbing and enjoy DIY projects at home, this might be a good home improvement project. However, several steps may be different from the online videos that make it seem easy. Here are some examples; • Matching or changing cut outs. Wide gaps cannot be sealed, and you risk ruining a kitchen counter top. Moreover, you simply can’t cut or drill a granite or marble countertop yourself unless you are an expert at it. • Mounting and leveling. Being way off looks bad. Loose mounting allows rocking or other movements, and overtightening can crack natural stone. • If you are not replacing faucets, you will probably need to remove the existing ones temporarily. Are the shut-off valves working? Do they fit the holes of the new sink? Are connection threads in good condition? Do fittings have different metals that lead to galvanic corrosion? Even a tiny leak in the supply or drain can slowly lead to water damage. Many people underestimate the difficulties of squeezing into a tight space and the cost of buying all the right tools, as well as, losing a lot of time out of your busy life. With our team of licensed plumbers, you can be confident our professional sink installation is done right. Al’s Plumbing delivers fast, same day service with attention to every detail.

Clogged Toilet
No one likes a clogged toilet! While the old plumber’s helper, known as the plunger, can fix some basic clogs, sometimes the clog is so far down the pipe that the plunger will not get the job done. Buildup over years, incorrect piping, a toy or other object inadvertently flushed into the line will make it almost impossible for the homeowner to have a solid working toilet. Other toilet issues, including a running toilet, are not only annoying, but can be extremely costly – a moderate toilet leak can waste 6,000 gallons of water per month, costing up to $70/month on your water bill!
