We needed our units cleaned and inspected for resale. Kevin Kenney sold a "level 2 inspection". Came with no camera, no ladder and all too quickly was doom and gloom, nothing "was to code". Never cleaned masonry fp, didn't have the proper equip; i.e. wasn't prepared. Refused to 'fix' my gas fp's because it would be "unethical' as they were also "not to code". Something was fishy. However, he promised a detailed typed report to follow.
Then we found a mfr authorized repair center. They came out and actually fixed the units (minor repairs) and found 0 issues. Apparently the "code" Kevin touted was actually masonry code NOT gas code - so much for an expert! My husband called him to discuss that he didn't do a Level 2 inspection, clean the unit or send the report! He was immediately defensive, argumentative and unprofessional. My husband hung up on him. He called back and left a voicemail equivalent to what a 8 yo boy would say when he was mad. Made personal attacks, etc. STAY AWAY!!!
The epitome of UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
I had an inspection set up for a Chimney certification, they set up a time and date with a window. I cleared my schedule for that date, they never called me as we agreed on 30 minutes prior to arrival. My inspection was from 1-4, I called them at 4:30 to see how they were making out. They said they cannot get ahold of their workers and they must be running late, Really you think you might want to call me and tell me, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I set up for another inspection the following day, they never showed up but did call me 10 minutes before they were going to be there, when I told them I will need 30 minutes heads up. I called them with no return call. I figured a would give them 1 last shot to come out to my property, so I called them on Tuesday today, they lady in the office said they can be out there today. Okay sounds good, they show up, I speak with one of the kids that works for them (no shirts/uniforms), I asked him how does it look, he said it looks really good, and that he was surprised how good the chimney looked and they should be finishing up soon. (I already had my mason look at it and he said it looked good also, but is not certified). About 15 minutes later the other kid comes in and says he would like to go over his findings, he told me that he spoke with the owner and that the chimney failed. He showed me some pictures on his cell phone, the pictures showed about 1-2 ft down into the chimney from the roof. I said it looks fine he said 'I know, but the owner said you need a new liner". He handed me a proposal for almost $2700.00. I asked to talk to the owner, I talked to him and he threw out a few big words and said that almost 99% chimneys need a liner. I wish this was explained to me 1st before I agreed to their 150.00 fee.
I am in sales in the construction field and have been for 15 years. I feel that this company is truly trying to extract work where there work is not necessary. They were unprofessional from the beginning and to top it off, they were trying to charge me for something that is not necessary. With further investigation, their insurance and Pa licensing have both expired and the township has nothing up to date. I feel that I just got taken for $150, I would never recommend them, in fact I will be telling all of my investment partners and contacts to avoid this company. They are trying to scam people! If you are considering this company look at other, you have been warned!
