They were completely dishonest in their diagnosis. There was an attempt to charge me an exorbitant amount of money for unnecessary repairs. Their quote for all of the repairs they said I needed was $800. I declined and sought a second opinion. Long story short, I needed a new thermostat. That was all. After I spent $6 and twenty minutes of my time my issue was resolved. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I go to school in springfield and was having car trouble so I knew I had to take it in before I drove back to my hometown for summer. I went to Daytona's, they did fix the issue but they tried to tell me that my spark plugs were the originals and that they needed to be replaced very soon. They appeared to be honest people so when I came home I went to my regular mechanic, who is a close friend and very trustworthy, and he said he checked the spark plugs and they were not the originals! Daytona straight up LIED to me. The plugs were totally fine! I think since I am a girl they tried to take advantage of my little knowledge of cars. I am UNHAPPY. Don't take your car there, they do have a nice facility but not worth it when you're getting ripped off. They "replaced" my friends air conditioning but it still doesn't work even after going back multiple times. Bad business. Do not waste your time and money. Don't let them touch your car.

again Daytona comes true with another terrible experience just trying to get a vehicle inspection said I had bad bushings on my way sway bar. I took it down the road everything past with no problems Dayton was willing to repair it for hundreds of dollars. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Assby automotive they will treat you right. I would not recommend Dayton's or Don the counter person to anyone for inspections or repairs.

DONT believe all the bad reviews.

this place doesn't deserve all the bad review that are on here. I took my car in to get a brake line spliced. they quoted me $200.00 on the job for 2 hours worth of work and new brake lines. The job ended up being a nightmare for them. Their flaring tool broke, so they got a loner one from autozone or somewhere. Then that one didnt work very well. so instead of sending it home with me not done properly they decided to keep it overnight so they could fix it in the morning with a new tool. When i went to pic it up they told me it had been 3 quarts low on oil and they had opted it off at no charge. i had dropped the car off to be worked on, on feb 28 2011 at 8:30 in the morning. and picked it up finished on march 1 2011 around noon. They had it there and worked on it all day the 28th and part of the 1st. this just shows the dedication and hard work these guys put into their job. Even though it was there over 10 hours being worked on they stuck by their quote. these guys are fair and will work with you. They explained what was going wrong and even showed me. I would recommend them to anyone that needs to have any kind of work done. BEST EXPERIENCE anywhere in Springfiel

WHAT A SCAM!

Do NOT take your car in to this place, even just for a simple inspection. $12 later this place wouldn't pass our 2000 Ford Explorer, siting that all four ball joints needed replaced. The quoted price? $724! My husband knows cars well enough and did not agree with this opinion. When taken to a place we had used before, it passed for inspection just fine. As a young family with 3 children, 2 who have disabilities, we could have been up a creek if this place had their way! So, we ended up paying $24 for a car inspection just to renew our tags at a time when we can't afford it!. When my husband returned to ask for a refund, they said we would have to have a MoDOT inspection first. What are inspection standards? There seems to be quite a lapse and if you are unaware, you could be out some money!

I apologize for the inconvenience, but with 3 children I would be more concerned with the ball joint failure. Just because it passed inspection somewhere else does not mean the ball joints are o.k. It just means they probably didn't check them. And as any mechanic will tell you, that is a VERY common problem on those. And for future issues, you can always ask the inspector to show you the problem, or take it the the State Highway Patrol on Kearney St., who will verify any issues that arise on your inspection.

Never EVER take your car here if you want to keep your money.

I brought my car here because it looked like one of the nicer places in Springfield. My car broke down and I knew that the problem was with the brakes or tires. I took my car in and after waiting 2 hours I find out that it's not a problem with the wheels or brakes, It's in the engine...or so they said. After waiting 3 days I finally was able to drive 2 hours back to Springfield to pick up my car (after confirming that it was finished and the problem was solved.)

I come in to pick up my car and It's still up on the jack, I knew right then and there that I was really going to get screwed. They proceed to tell me that it was indeed a problem with my brakes and that I would have to spend an additional 530 dollars to have my car fixed (after being quoted 800 to fix what they said the original problem was.)

So if you think you need you brakes fixed or you have some other minor problem with your car DO NOT and I will repeat DO NOT take your car to this place if you like to save a little money. You'll end up paying the owners building payment/payment for the fancy sign that sits outside, rather than have your car fixed.

This is not the way that a business should be ran, the people are rude, and the guy that runs the place is a smooth talker. When problems arise he is nowhere to be found. I've never been more taken advantage of in my life.

Save your money

Friendly folks but the work just isn't up to par. We've had two vehicles worked on there numerous times and spent a lot of money but are still having related problems that should have been fixed.
