Commercial Pest Control
Serving much of Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, Freedom Pest Control has been solving our customers’ residential and commercial pest control problems since 1994. Give us a call if you are in need of our science-based, proven pest management solutions.
Ants are pests that are often overlooked because most of the species that are common in Massachusetts and New Hampshire are harmless. If we see them on our property, we don’t think much of it, and if we find them in our houses, we often deal with the ones we see without taking further action. Unfortunately, this can be a mistake.
Spiders
Spiders are pests that most people would rather avoid running into regularly. Their quick movements, many legs, and multiple eyes cause us to be startled by these pests when we spend time outside in our yards or homes.
Termites
Usually when your home sustains serious damage, you know about it right away. A big storm blows through town and pulls shingles off your roof or an overthrown baseball breaks through a living room window. You’re much less likely to think about damage to your house that is completely out of sight, but that’s part of the reason why termites are so dangerous. A termite infestation usually occurs inside your walls, making it invisible to everyone in your house. For as long as it’s allowed to remain, the termites will eat away at the wooden elements in your Massachusetts or New Hampshire home, slowly leading to serious structural damage.
Bed Bugs
Presentations will be tailor-made including content geared specifically towards the needs of your unique staff/groups: one current item of particular concern is bed bugs. Presentations on this topic will be geared towards your employees with a specific focus on how to avoid bringing bed bugs home from work. Presentations for hotels & motels will focus on training your staff on how to spot bed bug activity before customers and most importantly, techniques for proper handling of infested material. In addition, the presentations will help customers define and implement targeted policies and procedures to ensure re-infestation does not occur when staff and customers are moving items in and out of your facility.
Fleas
When squirrels are on our properties, they are not only destructive but pose health risks. They contaminate food and surfaces with bacteria and pathogens they carry in their urine, excrement, and saliva that can make people ill. Squirrels, like other rodents, will introduce parasites, like fleas and ticks that they carry within their fur, into yards and homes.
Cockroaches
Each roach species is unique, but in most cases, you will find that these insects have oval-shaped bodies, antennae longer than their body, and an overall oily appearance. Most are unable to fly, but they do move quickly with the help of their six legs.
Silverfish
Seasonal invaders normally live outside, feeding and breeding. However, either accidentally or by instinct, they will migrate indoors at certain points of the year. Millipedes, centipedes, silverfish, and other seasonal pests often have high moisture needs and excess moisture building up in and around your home is often the biggest reason they are near. Things like leaking pipes, clogged downspouts, low-lying areas, and dripping air conditioners can provide the moisture these pests are searching for.
Bees
“I have used them for more than 2 years. They have helped with bees, ants, and mice. Always professional and on time.”
Wasps
We also had them remove a wasp's nest under our deck that was making it so we couldn't even use our outdoor space. They came out the next day and helped rectify the problem.
Ticks
American dog ticks as their name describes, feed on the blood of dogs, as well as many other different animal hosts, including people. They are one of the largest ticks living in the northeast region, with adults growing to half an inch in length after feeding. These ticks are a reddish-brown color with white or yellow markings at their front end. Like all ticks, American dog ticks are wingless, adults have eight legs, and blood is their sole source of nutrition.
Earwigs
Mosquitoes
Aedes vexans mosquitoes are one of the most widespread species of mosquitoes living across the world and in our Newburyport service area. Like other types of mosquitoes, their females require blood meals to produce healthy eggs. Aedes vexans mosquitoes like to feed on larger hosts like people and livestock.
Flies
Mosquitoes are a type of true fly and, like other flies, only have a single pair of wings. They can fly some distances, but they are not strong fliers and are easily thrown off course by a stiff breeze.
Centipedes
Millipedes
Beetles

Hornets
We had a serious problem this summer. Hornets, ants, and mice. Freedoms pest control was awesome. They came right out. Super affordable and very responsive. I can’t recommend them enough.
Yellowjackets
No matter the specific type, stinging insects all share how they defend themselves from threats: with a stinger located at their hind end. Predatory species like yellow-jackets, wasps, and hornets will also use their stingers to paralyze their insect prey.
Moths
The color pattern on their wings best identifies adult Indian meal moths. The front half of the wing is brown or cream-colored, and the back half is a darker bronze color.
Stink Bugs
Pantry Pests
One of the most common pantry pests to invade kitchens in homes and businesses worldwide is the Indian meal moth. These pests received their descriptive name because they were feeding on corn meal from Indian corn when these insects were first discovered.
Stinging Insects
Though their similar coloring may make it seem that these pests are all the same, they are unique, with their own characteristics and habits. If you see stinging insects buzzing around your home or lawn, it is always important to contact a professional to accurately identify them, locate their nests, and appropriately and safely remove them.
Gnats
Finally, we will treat standing water with BTI, a bacteria that infects and kills only mosquito larvae and their close relatives like gnats and black flies. BTI does not harm other kinds of insects, fish, birds, worms, or any mammals, but we can skip this part if you prefer not to use it.
Although we can inspect for bats at any time, treating them is regulated by the state. We can offer Massachusetts residents bat removal services May 1st to May 30th and again August 1st until October 15th.
Moles
Happy to leave an EXCELLENT review of Freedom. I had an abnormal infestation of moles this spring. I worked for 3-4 weeks trying home remedies etc. and had just minor success in moving them out. Called Freedom and they were here within a few days to start the process of eliminating the moles. Saw good results almost immediately. Freedom came back weekly for several weeks then monthly to follow up and they did a great job. Would I recommend them? YES. Well done Freedom Pest Control!
Raccoons
Raccoons: Raccoons are sneaky, which is why we first identify the entry points. Once identified, we can get to work on placing the necessary traps to remove the raccoons from the premises.
Snakes
Snakes: We will safely and effectively remove snakes from your property. Once removed, we will identify areas around your property that are appealing to snakes and come up with a plan to prevent them from returning.
Wildlife
As soon as you suspect a wildlife infestation, make sure to contact our team of wildlife control experts. A member of the Freedom Pest wildlife nuisance team will arrive at your home and get started on identifying what animal has invaded, how it's getting inside, and the extent of the damage thus far.
Opossums
Opossums are known to “play dead,†so steering clear of these animals is important whether they are up and active or just lying on the ground. Like other wild animals, opossums are unpredictable and will protect themselves when they feel threatened by biting or scratching.
Birds: Birds, such as pigeons, can not only be a nuisance but also pose a health risk. To eliminate pest birds, we'll implement a deterrent treatment that best fits the needs of your pest bird problem.
Woodchucks are large rodents that are common pests in Massachusetts and New Hampshire lawns and gardens. Though they look vastly different, they are, in fact, members of the squirrel family. Like all rodents, woodchucks have large, continuously growing front incisors they use for feeding.
Mice
Rats
There’s something about rats that can send a shiver down even the bravest person’s spine. Maybe it’s their beady eyes or their hairless tails, but the truth is that the way rats look is the least of anyone’s problems. If rats get into your Massachusetts or New Hampshire home, their creepy appearance will be the least of your worries.
Squirrels
Squirrels are a common type of rodent. In the northeast, tree squirrels are most common and usually are identified by their large bushy tail and their presence in trees and on buildings’ roofs.
Voles
Chipmunks
Chipmunks: We'll start by identifying entry points through which chipmunks are entering the structure. Once identified, we'll come up with a plan for treatment to eliminate the infestation. We will seal up entry points to prevent re-infestation once all chipmunks have been removed.
