        My paintings evoke the memory of the physical while expressing the fragility of something elemental to the human heart: a yearning for the ineffable. The paintings are memories of place, rather than representations of actual places. As such, these places are imaginary, existing in the space between reality and desire. Perceptible patterns and recognizable forms overlay less perceptible ones so that in many of these works, the figurative and abstract converge. The paintings are not cataloging the past, rather revealing an invitation of hope to the eyes of the beholder.
