LCEC is the worst, yes I understand they're a business and they want their money, unfortunately people have issues and things arise and sometimes people aren't able to pay their bill on time. LCEC does not work with people when it comes to arranging a late payment or requesting that they accept a partial payment. I live paycheck to paycheck and I can't always pay my bill by the due date, I always end up with a late fee on my bill and I gladly pay the late fee, then one day out of the blue I get a letter from LCEC telling me due to my late payments I'll now be required to pay a deposit in the amount equivalent to 2 months of service, well 1st and foremost I have already paid a deposit when I started my services, 2nd of all you want me to pay a $550 deposit in addition to the $250 deposit I paid when I started my service, 3rd you say that the extra deposit has to be paid in full with the next bill which is almost $300? I ask if they could break it up into multiple payments? Yeah NOT.

My Mother was diagnosis with non small cell lung cancer on Nov 2 2008. She was no longer able to work. I have to take care of her she cant walk on her own. She is on oxygen. My son has asthma and is on a nebulizer machine as well. When went in to the hospital we had a loss of income with her not working and me not working. ON November 18 when are bill was due we paid 200.00 of the 327.00. We are trying to get her on SSA to help with the bills and LCEC told us that they were going to shut off the electricity on the 5th of Dec before the next bill was do. Told them what was going on and that she 450.00 dollar deposit on the account is there a way that they could pull the 127.00 from that. They said that they could not and then I ask if the could work with us in till we got her SSA setup that the doctors give her less then a year that when the SSA starts we could pay it we have no money. That the only one working is my dad and the had no medical and the are trying to get there medication and that they will be as soon as we got the money that we are trying we paid 200 of it. He said there was nothing he could do they will not use the deposit or give us any time that it would be shut off on the 5 sorry.
